Arabian Leopard
Up until recently the leopards of Oman were thought to be extinct.
Panthera pardus nimr, to give it its latin name lives in the most inaccesible
terrain of mountains and wadi beds and the pale body colour makes it almost
invisible. My own all too brief encounter with this beautiful cat was in
Wadi Raykhut and a more magnificent backdrop for a leopard one could not
imagine. Moving around Oman I painted many subjects but the memory of the
leopard will stay with me for ever.The images on this page will take 110 seconds to load at 28.8,
